Senior Design Engineer Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa £50,000 DOE

Location - In Office, Richmond

We are supporting a diverse design and manufacturing company with over a century of experience in providing innovative, bespoke engineering solutions across the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors.

They are seeking a motivated Senior Design Engineer to join their team of professionals. This is a fantastic opportunity with a clear development path, leading to progression into an Engineering Manager position.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

  • Act as the primary contact for the client, involving them in contract execution and managing their expectations during contract fulfilment
  • Support the Engineering Manager in delivering company projects from initial conception to final completion
  • Support Design and Project Engineers in the delivery of their projects
  • Determine client and project specifications, objectives, schedules, and responsibilities by reviewing client documentation to identify customer requirements
  • Maintain financial diligence through the execution of budget and cost control to help meet projected profitability targets
  • Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain the project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Evaluate systems and products by designing and conducting testing programmes and studying customer requirements
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
  • Prepare data by collecting, analysing, and summarising information for installation, testing, quality, packing, and weekly reports
  • Support sales with the technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, preparing technical offers, analysing project specifications, and designing technical solutions

Experiences required

  • Competent in modelling using SolidWorks or similar software, e.g. Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, Onshape, Creo, or CATIA
  • A degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Able to create detailed technical production packs for manufacture (DFM)
  • Project Management experience within a manufacturing or production environment is advantageous
