We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. This role is essential for supporting meal preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. Responsibilities

  • Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen operations.
  • Help with the cooking of various dishes under the guidance of experienced cooks.
  • Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with service as needed.
  • Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting.
  • A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
