GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Geography Teacher to join a mixed secondary academy in Barking and Dagenham. This is an exciting opportunity for a Geography Teacher who is passionate about inspiring students and delivering high-quality lessons. If you are an enthusiastic Geography Teacher with strong curriculum knowledge, we want to hear from you!

Geography Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing support where needed.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Geography examinations.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve the Geography curriculum.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain high expectations.
  • Take part in school activities, trips, and extra-curricular learning.

Geography Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum across KS3-KS5.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Two professional references covering the last two years.
