A really impressive SEN school in Chalfonts is searching for a Learning mentor who is experienced in working with pupils with SEN / PMLD and disabilities.

They are looking for someone who is passionate, empathetic and has a real interest in progressing students' learning. Typically, the pupils at this special at school for pupils aged 12-18 will have a diagnosis of Autism, and many will have additional complex needs / PMLD SEMH.

The school provides excellent levels of care and education for pupils with profound, severe, and often complex learning difficulties, and will also have other associated needs including physical disabilities and medical conditions. All pupils have an EHCP or a statement of special educational needs.

Experience of working with challenging behaviours is highly desirable but transferrable skills and professions will also be considered.

Sports Coaches, Social Workers, Army, Police, Boxers, Door Staff and Graduates welcomed to apply.

 

They are looking to recruit a behaviour mentor with transferrable skills or previous experience supporting pupils with barriers to learning, who display challenging behaviour. Whilst supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis, as the behaviour mentor, you would be expected to show a calm, caring and nurturing approach as building positive relationships is key to improving behaviour within school.

You will be supporting these students within the classroom alongside the class teacher, you will be working within a school environment. You must be prepared for challenges throughout the day and be able to support when needed.
