We’re hiring for an Engineering Operative to join a forward-thinking company that specialises in high-quality manufacturing and fabrication at their site based in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
This is a great opportunity to work within a structured 4-day workweek, operating a variety of industrial machinery and ensuring materials are prepared to the highest standard.

What will you be doing as an Engineering Operative?
- Operating machinery & tools including band saws, chop saws, grinders, drill presses, and deburring tools
- Handling & organising materials, ensuring they are prepared correctly for production
- Cutting, weighing & measuring materials to precise specifications
- Inspecting materials for defects and ensuring quality standards are met
- Following technical drawings & work instructions to ensure accuracy
What do you need?
- Experience operating industrial machinery (e.g., saws, grinders, drill presses)
- Background in an engineering or manufacturing environment (metal fabrication or heavy machinery experience is a plus)
- Ability to measure, cut & prepare materials accurately
- Attention to detail, particularly in quality control & material inspection
- NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Fabrication (desirable)
