Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

If so, GSL Education are looking for a motivated and passionate SEMH Primary TA to join a welcoming and supportive school in Chapel-en-le-Frith.

Responsibilities of the SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA):

  • Support primary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning and behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with students, offering emotional and academic support.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage students' personal development, social skills, and emotional resilience.

Requirements of the SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA):

  • Previous experience working with SEMH, or SEN students is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with students.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to classroom challenges.
  • Drive between school locations when required (driver essential).
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
