The role requires 3-5 years of experience in product development or engineering, along with proficiency in Inventor or Solidworks.

The position offers a salary of £35,000 to £45,000, along with benefits such as a contributory pension and 25 days of holiday.

Design EngineerThe Opportunity:A superb opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer or Development Engineer to join a growing Somerset business who produce beautiful products related to the Interiors sector. As Development Engineer, you will fully utilise your Design Engineer skills to design and develop products you will enable the designs of specialist furniture which are provided by clients nationally. You’ll use your Inventor and/or Solidworks skills to develop aesthetic products within a fun team environment in beautiful offices in the heart of Somerset.Job Responsibilities:

You will work on new ideas and concepts to produce a practical, e product whilst using your CAD design skills on a daily basis.
Developing product solutions alongside our design partners and operational team that are innovative yet appropriate to each project’s objectives.
Develop working prototypes for design dept, clients, sales and operations
Produce 3 and 5 axis CNC drawings/programmes for manufacture.
Maintain high standards of engineering drawings covering all required processes from component to product assemblies.
Develop required database content from single product structures to ‘configurator’ based information.
Continuous review of products for lean production, quality standards and engineering improvements to drive profitability.

Preferred Skills:

A working knowledge of Inventor or Solid Works modelling software would be an advantage.
3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing business working in product development, product engineering or similar
Degree in Mechanical engineering, Product engineering or similar
Experience in CNC 3 and 5 axis programming preferable
Knowledge of upholstery production and/or joinery preferable but not essential
Knowledge of Winman manufacturing or a similar MRP/ERP system would be beneficial
An understanding of modern manufacturing methods and Lean understanding
