Lentells is a firm of accountants with offices in Chard, Taunton and Seaton. We have a very busy payroll bureau and an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator to join the team based in our Chard office.

The Payroll Assistant role is full time based in our Chard office, however part time applications will be considered.

All payrolls are processed on Iris Payroll Professional, therefore, experience of this software is desirable, however, applicants from individuals with alternative software experiences are very welcome.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Processing payroll for a range of clients with weekly, fortnightly, four weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll cycles
  • Manual calculation of Tax and NI
  • Calculating pay increases, overtime and bonuses
  • Calculating SMP, SSP etc.
  • Reporting to HMRC on behalf of clients and liaising regarding any queries
  • Auto-enrolment, pension assessments and uploads to pension provider
  • Responding to client queries

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 2 yearspayroll experienceand processing payroll for a range of clients (ideally bureau experience). A Good working knowledge of all areas of payroll (Calculating statutory payments, Auto-enrolment, Employment allowance) RTI and current HMRC reporting requirements.

All applicants MUST be eligible to work in the UKm and integrity.

Essential Requirements: Logical, well organised with good time management skills.Computer literate; able to use various software packages.Good attention to detail and able to use initiative.Able to work well both in a team and independently.Good level of both written and verbal communication skills.Able to provide client service excellence and demonstrate professionalis.

In addition, the following will be desirable/beneficial: Experience in producing P11Ds. A payroll qualification.
