SSA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join a leading commercial landscape contractor operating predominantly in zone 1, 2 & 3 of London. Due to Recent project wins they are currently looking to employ a contracts manager that will be able to look after a number of their hard landscaping & external works schemes.
Established for over 15 years, the company are a top 5 contractor in their sector delivering award winning schemes for local authorities and building contractors. The company skills include hard landscaping and groundworks, soft landscaping and external works. Their turnover is £75m per annum approx. They are currently looking to find a Contracts Manager with experience in the hard landscaping industry to join their team for London based projects.
This client has a high staff-retention rate due to the way their staff are developed in-house through training schemes and management support from the leaders of the business. This support is what enables the company to repeatedly complete these schemes for their loyal client-base safely and how they are able to adapt effortlessly to these clients' demands.
Responsibilities of the Contracts Manager
- Completion of projects on time and to the agreed quality standards
- Ensure budgeted margins are improved on projects
- Management of Direct Labour via suitably qualified Site Managers
- Ensuring all works adhere to the required Health and Safety standards.
- Allocation of resources including plant, equipment and materials
- Delivering on a wide range of landscape projects in line with our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
- Undertake safety and quality site inspections and audits.
- Client communication and relationship building, including Architects and Client QS
- Pricing variations in conjunction with QS
- Managing design process via internal and external designers
- Working closely with QS team for submission of valuations and agreement of final accounts
- Mentoring and coaching of staff.
- Identify and act on business development opportunities.
- Collaboration and Liaison with other departments and colleagues within Ground Control
What's Required of the Contracts Manager
In addition you will need;
- CSCS (required), SSSTS (desirable), SMSTS (desirable) - NEBOSH / IOSH (desirable) - Full driving licence (essential)
You'll be dedicated and hard-working with the ability to work on your initiative and as part of a team. Sound written and numeracy skills are also an essential. In addition, you'll possess basic IT skills, email, Word, Excel,
