• £83.50 - £100 per day

We are urgently looking for teaching assistants across the borough of Greenwich to work on a full-time and supply basis in a range of primary schools.

We have Teaching Assistant opportunities across all primary age groups (EYFS/KS1/KS2). As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting children and teachers in a variety of ways.

In the early years (3 - 5) you will support children with play based learning, early reading and phonics and learning numbers and letters.

In the primary age groups (KS1/KS2), you will be based in a more structured classroom supporting children to access learning activities across English, Maths and various other subjects.

The majority of the roles we have are for teaching assistants to work with a specific child or children with special educational needs (SEN). This will involve building relationships with them, adjusting activities and helping them to focus in class and work with other children. Whilst an understanding of SEN is helpful, many of our teaching assistants gain experience on the job and with training and guidance from teachers and school leaders in their placements.
Teaching Assistants are required for the full school day - 8.30am to 3.45pm (approx.)

Flexible work options
We have full-time Teaching Assistant contracts available from January in primary schools across Greenwich. These roles will require full-time commitment.
We also have supply work. This is ideal if you just want to work a few days in local primary schools, or want to build experience across various year groups.

What do I need to be a Teaching Assistant?
You do not need any formal qualifications to be a Teaching Assistant, but we do require you to have had some experience working with children. Teaching Assistant work is ideal for:
• Graduates who are considering becoming teachers
• Nursery staff or Nannies who are looking for term-time work
• Sports coaches / Play leaders / Sunday school teachers / care workers

You will need an Enhanced DBS certificate to work with children (don't worry if you haven't got one, we can help you get one) and 2 references covering the past two years.

Most importantly you need a caring, dedicated and professional approach to working with young children.

Once you have completed our online registration, we will get all your paperwork sorted so you can start work as soon as possible. This normally takes around 3 to 5 working days.
