Your new companyWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead a dedicated Children in Care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of services to children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met, and their voices are heard. Your new role

  • Lead and manage a team of newly qualified, experienced social workers and support staff, providing supervision, guidance, and professional development.
  • Responsible for delivering and improving services for vulnerable children, young people and their families.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support services to children in care, in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Develop and implement care plans that are tailored to the individual needs of each child.
  • Allocate cases within the statutory timescale ensuring assessments, statutory visits and planned reviews have clear objectives and outcomes in order to ensure that all vulnerable children receive a service that reflects the Council's commitment to safeguarding and putting the needs of individual children first.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and other professionals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure the sustainability of services.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Successfully completed your ASYE.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children and families.
  • Experience working in child protection, looked after children and court work.
  • Experience and understanding of permanence planning, with evidence of experience working with cases from proceedings through to adoption and other forms of permanence.
  • A thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory framework for children in care.
  • Have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
