Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Chatham, Kent
Pay: 85-100 per day
Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Chatham, Kent. This rewarding role involves supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. All our students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and exhibit extremely challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with their learning and development.
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement individualised education plans and behavioural strategies.
- Manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Assist with classroom activities and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people
- Experience working with SEN or SEMH needs.
- Proven ability to handle severely challenging behaviour confidently and professionally.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to the varying needs of students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
