This role as a WCA Disability Assessor offers an excellent opportunity to transition into an assessment-based role while still making a real impact on people’s lives.As a WCA Disability Assessor, you will conduct assessments on individuals applying for Work Capacity Assessments (WCA), evaluating how their health conditions impact their ability to work. Your clinical expertise will help ensure fair and evidence-based decisions regarding eligibility for employment-related benefits.This is a hybrid position, allowing you to balance 50% home-based work with 50% on-site assessments in Chatham. With structured hours, no weekends, no shift work, and no bank holidays, this role provides an ideal work-life balance. Who Can Apply?To be eligible, you must be an Adult Registered Clinician with:
  • Full and clean registration with the NMC or HCPC
  • A minimum of 2 years post-registration experience
  • A background in one of the following Adult-Only professions:
  • Adult-Only Occupational Therapist
  • Adult-Only Registered General Nurse (RGN)
  • Adult-Only Physiotherapist
  • Adult-Only Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • Strong IT and typing skills to manage case documentation and reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Key ResponsibilitiesAs a WCA Disability Assessor, your role will involve:
  • Conducting detailed functional assessments for adult claimants applying for WCA benefits
  • Evaluating how a claimant’s condition affects their ability to work and perform daily tasks
  • Writing clear, evidence-based reports to support eligibility decisions
  • Engaging with claimants in a professional, empathetic, and supportive manner
  • Using IT systems to efficiently document case files and reports
  • Working independently while also collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.
