Intervention Teacher - Chatham

Full-Time - MPS - Immediate Start

Tradewind are recruiting for an interesting position for a strong Intervention Teacher to work with a small group of 10 students in Year 6, providing academic support to students to help them achieve expected level in English and Maths. The role is full-time and would be to start ASAP and will run through till the end of the academic year. There could be a class teaching position at the school to commence in September but this is a possibility, not a certainty if you would be interested in this. Interviews are happening this week and shortlisting for the position is actively taking place.

This is at a large Primary School in Chatham that caters to children that are in an economically deprived catchment area, hence why the school has an incredibly strong ethos of nurture and opportunity for their pupils. The staff are incredibly well supported and relationships with parents are strong and the pupils welfare and outcomes are at the heart of everything they do. The school is graded Good by Ofsted from 2023 and has ample parking on the streets surrounding the school, as well as easy access via public transport.

The Role

  • Planning and delivering the Primary Curriculum in KS2
  • Delivering a bespoke curriculum to a cohort of 10 children in Year 6 with varied abilities.
  • Responsibility for ensuring your cohort is supported and challenged appropriately with the work set.
  • Managing behaviour within the classroom effectively.
  • Liaising with Parents/Guardians on the progress and/or potential development areas of students

Requirements

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in the UK
  • Experience teaching the UK Primary Curriculum KS2 and time as an Intervention Teacher would be highly desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS (DBS on the update service is highly desirable)
  • Have right to work in the UK
