Are you looking for a new job opportunity or fancy a change? Look no further HRGO have a role for a well established Manufacturing company based within the Medway Towns. This will be for a Purchasing assistant working on a 12 month contract.

Working hours are 8.30 - 5pm with an early finish on a Friday.

The client is offering after training to work remotely 2 days per week, however you will be required to work between 2 local offices within the Medway area.

Role Purpose

The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for the administration of purchase orders and related documents within SAP for purchases of goods, materials and services to ensure data accuracy. This role reports to the Procurement Supervisor.

What you'll be doing:

  • Ensure all purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with suppliers by email or telephone where any data on the order acknowledgement is not in line with company purchase order.
  • Maintain SAP to ensure all purchase order data is accurate in line with order acknowledgements and all electronic documents are filed appropriately.
  • Liaise with internal customers to provide status updates on orders.
  • Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well being of staff and visitors.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Procurement Supervisor or Procurement Manager.

Experience

  • Essential: General knowledge of office administration
  • Desirable: Previous experience of working in a Procurement team, ideally within a manufacturing environment

Technical skills

  • Essential: Computer literate, with MS Office skills/abilities
  • Desirable: Experience of using an MRP system and/or SAP

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform calmly and confidently under pressure, achieve goals and meet deadlines
