Behaviour Learning Support Assistant

Location: Chatham. KentSalary: £85-£95 per day

Monday- Friday Full-time Term Time Only

Time Plan Education are working with a school where every pupil is treated as an individual. The school take pride in delivering a tailored curriculum that not only supports academic achievement but also focuses on personal growth, social development, and emotional wellbeing. All of the students have an Educational, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) with SEMH as their primary need, and many present with complex and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in both group and one-on-one settings.
  • Assist in the delivery of tailored lesson plans, ensuring each student's individual needs are met.
  • Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Encourage the development of social and emotional skills, fostering a positive, growth-oriented mindset.
  • Provide support during transitions between activities, ensuring students remain focused and engaged.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to implement EHCPs effectively.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to working with vulnerable young people.
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations and individual needs.
  • Passionate about helping students succeed both academically and emotionally.
