SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for an SEND Teaching Assistant in the Chatham area. The ideal SEND Teaching Assistant will have experience working with SEND or in a SEND setting. You will ideally be a TA, LSA, or Support Worker with SEND experience who will be responsible for providing support to children in a primary school environment.

As aSEND Teaching Assistant, you will support students in lesson , accompany them in outdoor learning activities and work with them to develop academic and behavioural excellence. You will be required to engage your learners in their lessons whilst caring for their emotional and pastoral needs.

Your responsibilities as aSEND Teaching Assistantwill include:

  • Providing support for learners both in and out of the classroom
  • Be able to remain calm and objective when presented with challenging behaviour
  • Assisting with maintaining a safe and positive environment throughout the school
  • Being alert to any safeguarding or pastoral concerns
  • Helping classroom teachers to deliver a first class education
  • Understand SEND, primarily Autism and ADHD
