Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Chatham, Medway

Mon - Fri - 32 hrs, Term time only. Start date: 24 February 2025 (after half term)

Looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work with students that have ASD and Complex Needs students. The role would suit someone with experience from a school or care background who has a passion to support SEN.

Special Needs Teaching Assistant we are looking for:

  • Someone with experience and knowledge of working with young adults or children with Complex Needs and Learning Disabilities.
  • Nurturing people who want to understand the needs of each learner
  • An understanding of traits and triggers around autism
  • To have strategies to communicate with non-verbal students
  • Someone who is flexible to work with KS1 - KS4 students additonal needs
  • Able to make a positive environment to eliminate challenging behaviour
  • Positive de-escalation strategies
  • L2/L3 Teaching Assistant/ Care or SEND qualification

For all succesful applicants, a full training and support programme is in place with access to over 300 training courses.
