- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Provide management with monthly financial updates, variance analysis, and strategic advice.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and annual statutory accounts in compliance with UK GAAP or IFRS.
- Cost Management: Monitor manufacturing costs, including raw material procurement, labour, overheads, and production efficiencies. Analyse cost drivers and suggest ways to improve profitability.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure efficient use of company resources. Provide forecasts to support operational and capital expenditure.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and enhance the company’s internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
- Audit & Tax: Manage external audits and liaise with auditors. Oversee tax filings, including VAT, corporation tax, and payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Team Leadership: Manage the finance team, providing mentoring, development, and performance management. Ensure the team operates effectively and efficiently.
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with department heads to understand their financial needs, support decision-making, and provide financial insight into operational performance.
- ERP System Oversight: Ensure the effective use of the company’s ERP system for accurate financial tracking and reporting. Work with IT to enhance system capabilities as needed.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with 5+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting standards (UK GAAP or IFRS).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience in managing and developing finance teams.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with manufacturing-specific ERP systems is an advantage).
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
