We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a fantastic local special educational needs (SEN) school. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching and learning of our students, working under the guidance of the class teacher.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Provide specialist learning support to individuals, small groups, or children with additional needs.
  • Encourage the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Liaise with specialist services, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists.
  • Offer feedback to students on progress and achievement.
  • Support the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating, and adjusting lessons as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ responses to learning activities.
  • Contribute to behaviour management within the school.
  • Implement agreed learning activities and teaching programmes.
  • Support students in accessing learning activities through specialist support.
  • Supervise students on visits, trips, and out-of-school activities as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational or care setting.
  • Confidence to support children on a 1-2-1 or small group basis.
  • Ability to provide feedback and support to students and teachers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (we can provide this)
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
