Job Title: Principal Instrumentation Engineer
Location: Manchester
Contract: 12 months
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to projects under a well-established Master Service Agreement.
- Engage in all project phases, including Conceptual Studies, Basic, FEED, and Detailed Design.
- Focus on control and instrumentation (C&I) engineering tasks for process plants and facilities, spanning the Chemical, Petrochemical, Power, and Energy Transition sectors.
- Develop and manage C&I Engineering deliverables as required per project.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience: Proven expertise in instrumentation design for medium to large capital projects, covering concept through start-up.
- Industry Expertise: Significant background in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas sectors.
- Collaboration: Skilled in multidisciplinary coordination, especially within contracting environments.
- Communication: Excellent proactive communication skills, with experience liaising with Client Engineers and Project Management.
- Educational Requirements: Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Credentials: Chartered Engineer status or working towards it, with membership in IMC or IET.
- Technical Skills:
- Equipment specification, selection, and supplier compliance within an EPC setting.
- Familiarity with design tools, techniques, and project execution methodologies.
- Budget and schedule control experience.
- Proficient in design safety and constructability.
- Knowledge of electrical protection methodologies.
- Expertise in field instrumentation, analysers, DCS, PLC, and SIS systems across the lifecycle.
- Experience with Hazardous Area Instrumentation (ATEX) and mechanical package instrumentation requirements.
- Competence in P&ID development and sizing of flow devices, control valves, and relief devices.
- Global Teamwork: Experience with global integrated delivery teams is preferred.
