I am recruiting for a Group Insurance Business Partner to join our client on an interim basis for a period of 3 months initially.

The Group Insurance Business Partner is a key member of the Group Risk, Insurance & Internal Audit team, reporting to the Group Head of Insurance, the role is based in Manchester, near the airport.

The role is responsible for the oversight and governance of the company’s complex insurance portfolio, ensuring appropriate coverage, compliance with legal obligations, and value for money.Key Responsibilities of the Group Insurance Business Partner:

  • Day-to-Day Insurance Management: Oversee claims handling, financial administration, and annual policy renewals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work with internal teams, brokers, and insurers to maintain and improve insurance coverage.
  • Risk & Claims Analysis: Provide insights and reporting to leadership to help reduce claims and enhance defensibility.
  • Policy Oversight: Ensure appropriate coverage across the group and business units
  • Regulatory & Strategic Support: Assist in the insurance renewal process, policy payments, and ensure the portfolio aligns with evolving business risks (e.g., international expansion).
  • Data & Reporting: Develop management information (MI) to support decision-making and compliance.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly Desirable: CII or similar insurance qualification, strong risk management expertise, and excellent communication skills.
  • Desirable: Experience in insurance claims management, commercial insurance, and data analysis.

Impact & Financial Scope:

  • MAG spends £6m–£7m annually on insurance premiums, broker fees, and deductibles.
  • The role helps optimise insurance strategy to reduce costs and claims exposure while ensuring business continuity.
