Who we are looking for
We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our extensive portfolio of commercial properties, handling both reactive and pre-planned maintenance tasks. Though the role is mechanical bias candidates with electrical expertise and relevant mechanical experience will also be considered.
The role involves a diverse range of preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities, and the ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to enhancing maintenance methods, ensuring they align with the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.
Preferred skills and experience
- 3 Years experience within a facilities management role and has knowledge of SFG20 standards.
- Health and Safety experience including COSHH, Risk Assessment and Permits to Work.
- Computer literate including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a multi skilled maintenance engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias
- Some form of formal qualification, ideally to minimum Level 3 (NVQ/City and Guilds/HNC/D)
- Legionella control knowledge. (Preferable)
- Building fabric repair experience. (Desirable)
Main Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance in accordance with SFG20 standards.
- Responding to requests that are raised through the Facilities Helpdesk.
- Carrying out a wide scope of general maintenance tasks including joinery, plumbing and electrical work.
- Chaperoning and ensuring contractors adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- Reporting and correcting faults to maintain the standards of all properties.
- Obtaining quotes for minor technical parts.
- Completing associated paperwork to a high standard on a electronic tablet.
- Working in a variety of buildings in the Northwest.
- Part of the OOH Call out rota.
Requirements:
- City and Guilds Mechanical or Plumbing Qualifications or equivalent
- Able to take part in call out rota
- Experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Possession of a full UK driving licence is essential.
