Manchester Staff is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join one of our Manufacturing clients in the Cheadle, Stockport. You will be joining an SME company who manufacture and supplies wholesale building products. They are looking for a initial contract period before transitioning to a full time permanent contract in 2025.

Roles and responsibilities:

The ideal Production Manager will be skilled at managing a team and factory to oversee the processes of manufacturing. You will also have strong experience in process improvement and will make recommendations to the board of how to develop the production systems positively. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and production process improvements. You will coordinate with the team and Director to ensure that the production of materials is running smoothly, effectively and on time for the clients' requirements / needs.

Essential:

  • Production Management Experience
  • Understanding of Processes and Production
  • Good understanding of the flow of a factory

Desirable:

  • Good experience with Process Improvement Methodoligies (Kaizen, Kanban, JIT, 5S, Six Sigma etc.)
  • An understanding of Chemical, Polymers, Paint or similar manufacturing
