Cover Supervisor - Secondary School (Stockport) - Supply Basis - Flexible Role

Forever Teaching Recruitment is partnering with a dynamic secondary school in Stockport to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor on a supply basis. This flexible role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with teenagers, have strong classroom management skills, and want the opportunity to work in a varied and rewarding environment.

Role:As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes across various subjects in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll ensure students remain on task, maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, and manage behaviour effectively. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to work on a supply basis and choose when you are available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher.

  • Ensure that students follow the work set by the teacher and remain engaged.

  • Maintain good behaviour and handle any disruptions in a calm and effective manner.

  • Support students in staying focused and completing tasks.

  • Ensure a safe and positive classroom environment.

  • Report back to the relevant teacher or department with feedback on student progress and behaviour.

  • Follow school policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to work effectively with teenagers.

  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable (but not essential).

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students.

  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work independently.

  • A genuine interest in supporting students' education and development.
