Job Description:Out of School Club Area Manager
Full-Time, Permanent Position

Overview
This newly created full-time position is essential in supporting the Director of Childcare with the daily operations of our expanding Ofsted-registered Wraparound Childcare Provisions. The successful candidate will manage six, soon-to-be seven, settings across Salford, Trafford, Tameside, Stockport, and Manchester, ensuring they provide high-quality care. Based initially in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, you will regularly travel to each provision to lead and develop our team, offering consistent support and CPD opportunities to supervisors and managers. You will also join the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organization-wide goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Staff Development: Provide guidance to staff across all settings, conducting regular observations, supervisions, and training sessions to build a strong and effective team.
  • Operational Management: Partner with the Head of Operations and Head of Quality Assurance to uphold high standards across all operational aspects. Collaborate with marketing to promote the settings and engage parents, carers, and potential clients.
  • School Partnerships: Cultivate strong relationships with host schools to ensure seamless integration and a supportive environment.
  • Health & Safety: Oversee daily safety protocols and ensure compliance.
  • Recruitment & Training: Hire, mentor, and train new staff, ensuring completion of all required CPD and maintaining a well-trained workforce.
  • Site Visits & Quality Assurance: Regularly visit each setting, carrying out observations, preparing reports, and implementing half-termly action plans focused on quality improvement.
  • Reporting & SLT Participation: Contribute to Senior Leadership Team meetings, providing regular updates and insights into operational performance.
  • EYFS Knowledge: Guide staff with curriculum ideas, encouraging innovative planning aligned with EYFS standards.
  • Safeguarding Lead: Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring adherence to all safeguarding policies.
  • Social Media & Communications: Support the creation of social media content and maintain website updates.
  • Staff Scheduling & Roster Management: Oversee staff scheduling and step in to cover settings if necessary.
  • Ofsted Liaison: Act as a point of contact for Ofsted, supporting and leading inspections as required.
  • Administrative Support: Work with the Office Manager and Head of Quality Assurance on childcare-related admin, customer inquiries, and accounts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification Essential
  • Paediatric First Aid Certification Essential
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certification Essential
  • Experience in Early Years or OOSC Team Leadership Essential
  • Full UK Driving License and Vehicle Access Essential
  • Proficient IT Skills(including Microsoft Teams) Essential

Working Hours

  • 37.5 Hours per Week: Wraparound clubs operate from 3 pm to 6 pm; your presence is required between at least 3 pm to 5 pm daily.
  • Hybrid Working Option: Flexible, with remote work potential and one day weekly at the Stretford Headquarters.
  • Holiday Club Leadership: During school holidays, lead our Holiday Club provisions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: £28,119 per annum, with a travel allowance and an annual review based on performance.

Start Date

  • Immediate Start: Negotiable start date. Flexible schedule option (4 or 5 days per week).
