Our client based in South Manchester is seeking a dedicated Test Engineer to join their team in crafting Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers (IRMS) and peripheral items. Primary Responsibilities for the Test Engineer role:

  • Follow test protocols, procedures, and scripts to systematically evaluate instrument functionality, accuracy, precision, and reliability.
  • Identify, isolate, and report defects or anomalies, collaborating closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, defects, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing testing processes, methodologies, and automation.

Requirements for the Test Engineer role:

  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree desirable but not essential. A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3 or 4, or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.
  • Experience in testing and validation of scientific instruments, electronics, or complex systems.
  • Prior experience in elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, or related fields is a plus.
