Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

We are an independent company providing service, maintenance, installation and projects for Water Treatment, Industrial Water Equipment and Industrial Water Management. We have been established for over 10 years and due to growth, we are now looking for an additional Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team.

Purpose of the role:

We offer an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team
  • Develop 3D library for standard plant items
  • Liaising with clients on design details – quality control/validation of manufactured designs
  • Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
  • Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic
  • Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications
  • Prepare & check bill of materials
  • Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects
  • Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs

  • A Degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Water industry experience would be a distinct advantage
  • SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience are essential
