Machine Shop Supervisor Location: Cheddar Salary: 16 p/h

We're looking for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee a skilled team of machinists and ensure seamless operations in our dynamic facility. This is your chance to contribute to a high-performing team while advancing your career in a growing business.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and motivate a team of machinists, ensuring that daily tasks are clear, achievable, and align with production goals.
  • Drive the efficient use of labour, materials, and equipment to meet production targets while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor workflow to guarantee the availability of all necessary components and resources to meet production schedules.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to your team to support growth and ensure high-quality work.
  • Keep communication channels open and clear, providing updates to both your team and senior management.
  • Be available for overtime or call-outs as needed to meet production demands, supporting the overall success of the workshop.


Skills & Experience:

  • Solid experience in a supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment-ideally aerospace, automotive, or mechanical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing setting, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Experience in resource and machine shop planning, with the ability to prioritise and adjust based on production needs.
  • Familiarity with machine tools, mechanical assembly, and material requirements. A hands-on understanding of the production process is a must.
  • Comfortable using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant tools to track performance, plan, and report on operations.
