Welder/Fabricator Supervisor
Location: Cheddar (occasional client site visits and work at Wales site, 2 hr drive max- Van provided)
Hourly rate: £20 per hour, with overtime pay 1.5x after 8 hours on Saturdays and 2x on Sundays.
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm (some flexibility for business needs required)

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise welding/fabrication tasks; meet deadlines and standards.
- Ensure safety, quality and workshop compliance.
- Oversee WPS development and inspection.
- Train and support team members for optimal performance.
- Plan resources and materials for projects.
- Manage stock levels (consumables, PPE) and ensure compliance.
- Conduct quality and safety inspections.
- Handle workshop paperwork (timesheets, reports).
- Support recruitment and team development.
- Occasional on-site or Wales workshop work.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions.
- Collaborative approach to teamwork, working effectively with internal and external teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fabrication & Welding City and Guilds Level 3 (desirable)
- Responsible Welding Coordinator qualification (desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong health and safety awareness within an engineering environment.
- Previous experience in welding or fabrication supervision is beneficial.
- Ability to travel to the Wales workshop as required (within a 2-hour radius of Cheddar).
