Our client are leading electromechanical service providers, due to expansion they are recruiting for a Machinist to join their busy team!
Machinist Roles and Responsibilities:
- Read and work from CAD drawings, determining appropriate machine settings to operate lathes and mills
- Use precision measuring tools to take measurements for cutting, shaping, and for inspecting completed components
- Completes calculations quickly, such as dimensions and tolerances of material
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs
- Maintains safe operation of equipment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations
- Be available for call out shift or overtime as directed by the Workshop Manager
The ideal Machinist will:
- Proven experience in engineering/manufacturing background
- Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
- Knowledge of speeds and feeds
- Ability to read blueprints and measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and vernier
- Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE
- Experience using variety of materials e.g. steel, aluminium and plastic
- Good literacy and maths skills
