Financial AccountantAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a leading university and play a key role in managing financial reporting, treasury, and taxation functions. This is a leadership role, offering the chance to drive improvements and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, you will lead a team of six (4 FTE) and be responsible for:

  • Managing the Financial Accounting Team, including appraisals, performance monitoring, development, and recruitment.
  • Preparing quarterly and annual accounts for the Group and its subsidiary companies.
  • Overseeing statutory returns and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Providing authoritative advice on Financial Reporting Standards, particularly FRS 102.
  • Managing the treasury function, including cash flow forecasting and investment management.
  • Leading on taxation matters, including VAT and corporation tax compliance.
  • Ensuring robust financial controls and risk management procedures are in place.
