Management Accountant
£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
Chelmsford, Essex (Office based role)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (9am – 5.30pm)

Located in Chelmsford, this high performing company are looking for a proactive, organised and self starting Management Accountant to join their growing Accounts team.
This new role is pivotal in assisting the Finance Director to run the Accounts functions, meet deadlines, provide accurate data and manage the team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate, detailed reporting, including weekly reports and monthly management accounts, including profit and loss account, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts.
- Review and assist with month end reconciliations, journals and cash flow updates.
- Monitor and analyse key financial performance indicators, providing insights to improve financial outcomes.
- Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Support other members of the finance team in AP and AR with training, technical expertise and hands on support.
- Collaborate with various departments to provide financial support for strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks by implementing robust internal controls.
- Drive process improvements in accounting systems and reporting tools.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications: AAT or ACCA/CIMA part qualified or equivalent.
Experience: Proven experience in a management accounting role.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling using Excel, use of manipulating data, pivots, charts, vlookups etc
- Experience of accounting software and CRM systems (preferably but not essential Xero)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
