This role involves overseeing key income streams, improving financial processes, and contributing to university-wide projects and funding returns.Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a deputy to the manager, ensuring seamless operations within the Management Accounting team.
  • Develop and enhance reporting systems using database techniques and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Provide expert financial advice, support budget preparation, and deliver insightful variance analyses.
  • Collaborate the operational team, senior staff, and professional service leaders to monitor financial progress and resolve issues.
  • Conduct detailed financial modelling, evaluate business proposals, and support strategic projects.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external financial reporting requirements, maintaining accurate ledger balances.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) and substantial experience in management accountancy.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, database management, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, deliver strategic financial insights, and support senior decision-makers.
