Our client, a highly successful business based in Chelmsford, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Assistant to join their team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and work within a supportive and collaborative team.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function of the business. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Data entry of purchase and sales invoices
  • Maintaining supplier records and processing supplier invoices
  • Creating BACS payment files and responding to supplier queries
  • Performing bank reconciliations and reconciling purchase ledger clearing account
  • Recording and allocating daily cheque receipts
  • Liaising with staff regarding Direct Debit collections and representations
  • Reconciling general client bank account and Direct Debit clearing account on a monthly basis

We are looking for someone who has strong attention to detail and is able to work accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and have a good understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is essential.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team. You will have a positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively.
