Prime appointments are currently working with a fast growing precision engineering company who are looking for a Quality Engineer to come and join their Day shift team and another to join the night shift team based in Chelmsford. The ideal candidate will have worked within the aerospace, defence and marine industries!

As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for developing quality assurance processes, conducting inspections and driving process improvements! We are looking for engineers who thrive in a precision driven environment!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality standards for products and processes as well as oversee inspections and testing across all stages.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality metrics, inspection results, and test data; ensure all processes comply with industry standards.
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments; address customer concerns, manage quality-related communications.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding issues relating to product Quality
  • Support HSE projects with a goal to certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to boost efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Audit and support the FAIRs process for 2nd sign-off approval
  • Managing customer concerns using established RCA and CAPA techniques such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5Ys and statistical data analysis

Experience required:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, especially CNC machining
  • Understand the management & auditing of an AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience of internal auditing to AS9100 desirable, but not essential
  • Knowledge of Inspection and measurement techniques
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
