Our client is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer to join their highly successful team to focus on FPGA development, verification and release processes in line with ECSS standards and requirements, and to ensure those processes are followed throughout the life cycle of the product
Key Responsibilities for the Senior FPGA Engineer:
- Drive FPGA development, verification, and release processes in compliance with ECSS standards and requirements.
- Ensure adherence to FPGA development processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of FPGA documentation to ensure compliance with ECSS standards.
- Conduct review processes, including source code reviews, to validate compliance.
- Develop a thorough understanding of FEE operation to create test plans and procedures.
- Generate and execute test plans to ensure FPGA deliveries meet customer and internal requirements.
- Participate in hands-on testing and verification of FPGA deliverables.
- Provide ECSS knowledge and guidance to the Product Assurance engineer.
- Act as the primary interface between FPGA engineering and Product Assurance.
Key Skills & Experience for the Senior FPGA Engineer:
- Knowledge of development standards used in Space, Aerospace, or Defence. Preferably ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C and ECSS-E-ST-20-40C.
- Previous experience of ensuring compliance across the full FPGA development life cycle.
- Verifying robust high reliability coding.
- Developing FPGA verification and validation plans and quality assurance procedures.
- Experience with version control software such as subversion.
- Experience of requirements managements using software tools such as Jama.
- Experience with issue tracking software such as Redmine or Jira.
- Previous experience developing VHDL FPGA code and using FPGA simulation tools and UVVM testbenches.
- Experience writing verification and validation plans.
- Methodical approach to verification testing and recording of results.
