Quality Engineer - FTC
  • Location: Chelmsford
  • Job Type: Full-time - 12 month FTC with a vision to go permanent 

Join a global leader in specialised components and subsystems for innovative solutions across medical, science, aerospace, defence, and industrial applications. They are seeking a Quality Engineer to support all business aspects, including Manufacturing and driving improvement and efficiency. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that issues are dealt with in an effective manner, and appropriate Root Cause and Corrective Action is applied.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Support Inspection for Incoming components to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
  • Non-Conformance Management and Improvement Activity.
  • Leading investigations on both internal issues and customer complaints/returns.
  • Support customer meetings alongside Product Engineering.
  • Performing Internal Audits in order to ensure that business processes are effective.
  • Support Audit activity for annual ISO9001 audits.
  • Quality approval of Delivery Review Boards
  • Attendance of the Change Control Boards
  • Approval of Change requests
  • Process Release oversight and approval
  • Carrying out Electro Static Discharge and Code of Practice Training
  • Review, approval and closure management of Permits and concessions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Higher technical education, ie HNC or above.
  • Quality related work experience in a manufacturing company.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Strong analytical skills to identify the source of problems.
  • Good MS Office skills, experience in SAP is beneficial.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with both internal and external stake holders.
