Interim People Operations Manager
Are you a solid HR professional with a passion for making a difference and driving improvements? Our client, a Local Authority Trading company is seeking a dynamic and hands on People Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the organisation's processes and drive HR Best practice.
Contract length - fixed term contract for 6 months
Full time opportunity with hybrid working available and remote working considered
Salary - Circa 50K
Location - Essex
Key Responsibilities:
Operational HR Management:
- Support the delivery of a HR services audit and its outcomes
- Identify problems and gaps, and oversee improvements to record keeping and compliance processes, including data retention and employee data integrity
- Ensure robust policies, procedures, and practices across all HR functions, including employee relations, disciplinary actions, and compliance.
- Advise on and support recruitment campaigns to ensure we have the right people in the right roles at the right times
- Support the review and optimisation of HRIS (PeopleHR) and other HR tools to improve functionality.
Employee Relations and Performance
- Provide expert proactive advice on employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary matters, and absence and performance management.
- Help develop sound people policies and practices that comply with employment law and other relevant legislation and regulations, to maximise operational performance
Learning and Development:
- Collaborate with the Head of People & Culture to design and deliver workshops to people managers
- Provide mentoring and upskilling support to the Assistant HR Advisor, helping develop their advisory skills
Candidate Requirements:
- Immediately available to start a contract within the next couple of weeks.
- Demonstrable experience in an HR generalist role
- Solid experience of employee relations and absence management case work
- Writing, creating and delivering training and learning events
- Experience driving and delivering on HR Projects
- Good working knowledge of and ability to seek out new and innovative ways of working which improves HR services to achieve measurable results and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrate commitment to deliver excellent levels of customer service and best practice
- Self-directed with an ability to deliver to deadlines within a fast-paced working environment
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Ability to collate and analyse people data and draw appropriate conclusions and recommendations
