Our client, a leading local authority, is currently seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join their team on a contractual basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and evaluating planning applications in accordance with regulatory frameworks
- Engaging in development management activities to ensure effective and sustainable planning solutions
- Providing expert advice and support on town planning issues to stakeholders and internal departments
- Preparing and presenting reports for planning committees and other related meetings
- Conducting thorough site visits and assessments as part of the planning application process
- Liaising with developers, consultants, and the public to facilitate successful planning outcomes
- Ensuring compliance with planning legislation, policies, and procedures
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of planning laws and regulations
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in development management and town planning
- Strong understanding of planning legislation, policies, and procedures
- Proficiency in managing and evaluating complex planning applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or related field
