We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an established team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in the design and developement of railway mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out design calculations using Hevacomp/Bentley Energy Simulator
- Prepare comprehensive design plans and collaborate with the CAD team
- Develop feasibility studies and cost estimates
- Perform detailed surveys for equipment replacement needs
- Conduct condition surveys and prepare detailed reports
- Participate in design team meetings
- Contribute to the creation of energy and carbon impact assessments
- Support in enhancing and refining the client brief
- Draft NBS specifications, equipment schedules, and tender documentation
- Evaluate and provide feedback on tender prices and quality submissions
- Lead and participate in pre-start and site progress meetings
- Conduct site inspections for quality control and project progress
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members
- Support the maintenance of project QMS (Quality Management System) records
Job Requirements:
- Degree qualification in an Engineering subject
- Experience in mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and undertaking safety-related risk assessments
- Proficiency in preparing design calculations using Hevacomp/Bentley Energy Simulator
- Strong skills in preparing detailed designs and coordinating with CAD teams
