We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an established team on a permanent basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in the design and developement of railway mechanical infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out design calculations using Hevacomp/Bentley Energy Simulator
  • Prepare comprehensive design plans and collaborate with the CAD team
  • Develop feasibility studies and cost estimates
  • Perform detailed surveys for equipment replacement needs
  • Conduct condition surveys and prepare detailed reports
  • Participate in design team meetings
  • Contribute to the creation of energy and carbon impact assessments
  • Support in enhancing and refining the client brief
  • Draft NBS specifications, equipment schedules, and tender documentation
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on tender prices and quality submissions
  • Lead and participate in pre-start and site progress meetings
  • Conduct site inspections for quality control and project progress
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members
  • Support the maintenance of project QMS (Quality Management System) records


Job Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in an Engineering subject
  • Experience in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and undertaking safety-related risk assessments
  • Proficiency in preparing design calculations using Hevacomp/Bentley Energy Simulator
  • Strong skills in preparing detailed designs and coordinating with CAD teams
