A growing fire consultancy of 50+, are now seeking an Associate level Fire Engineer, to support their newly Fire Engineering team, in a hybrid role in their Essex based offices.

This is a senior business role focused on not only on the delivery of work, but the spearheading of this arm of the business. You'll not only benefit from uncapped progression but complete fluidity in where your role could develop.

The Associate Fire Engineer's Role

The Associate Fire Engineer will assess fire safety performance in existing buildings, identify risks, and recommend tailored, cost-effective solutions.

The role involves developing and reviewing fire safety strategies for both existing and new build residential properties, as well as some small commercial buildings, conducting detailed fire safety inspections, and providing expert technical advice on complex fire safety challenges, including evacuation modelling and fire system design.

  • Identifying fire safety deficiencies and recommending practical mitigation measures.
  • Conducting fire safety inspections and producing comprehensive reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK fire safety legislation and standards (e.g., ADB, BS 9997).
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety solutions.
  • Representing the company at industry events, forums, and regulatory consultations.

The Associate Fire Engineer Will Have

  • A degree in fire engineering or a related discipline is essential.
  • Further fire related qualifications and memberships (IFE, IFSM)
  • Strong experience in fire safety strategy development and fire engineering consultancy.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK British fire safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience advising on complex fire safety issues, including compartmentation and fire system design.
