Building Surveyor

£44,096 per annum

Chelmsford, Essex

Permanent, Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to provide a specialist building surveying service in the maintenance of all CHP’s housing and other property assets, including disabled adaptations. You’ll carry out detailed building surveys and/or property condition analysis, including the commissioning and coordination of specialist contractors and consultants as required, to deliver remediation solutions to bring the asset to standard.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide comprehensive surveying services on behalf of CHP, providing appropriate detailed reports as required

  • Project manage multiple complex construction works cases from mobilisation to closure

  • Ensure customers and CRM systems are kept updated at all times

  • Manage insurance and disrepair claims from receipt to completion

What we are looking for

  • HNC/HTEC Level 5 Building Surveying (or equivalent)

  • Strong experience of carrying out building surveys and analysis defects, including writing reports with recommendations and identifying works

  • Significant experience using CRM systems

  • Ability to pro-actively manage diverse case types and case load

  • Empathetic and professionally aware of the social housing sector and upcoming changes

  • Work effectively both independently and with assistance from the team

  • A great communicator, who is organised and maintains high standards of performance

  • 37 hours per week - employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager, taking account of business need. We operate a hybrid working policy at CHP. This role requires the successful candidate to work out on site approximately 2 - 3 days a week.
