We are looking for a Clerk of Works, to provide the CHP group with effective quality control, technical advice and ensure compliance with all construction related matters, whilst maintaining excellent customer care.

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure that all new construction and defects are undertaken to the right standard and agreed specification, ensuring that the correct materials and workmanship is used, and that the product is of both high quality and value for money (VfM).

  • Undertake site inspections to document key stages of the build and ensure relative statutory compliance with Building Regulation/ Building Warranty and contractual specification.

  • Produce site inspection reports whilst ensuring high quality of work and VfM is provided highlighting any quality issues (including quality of work or materials) identified and take appropriate action.

  • Represent the CHP Group at snagging, de-snagging, handover and end of defects inspection visits.

  • Provide technical advice at the design stage including the review of contract specifications and proposed scheme drawings. Identify and recommend any changes to specifications, materials or products that may be needed to meet legislative requirements or to improve quality and/or longevity of the work being carried out.

What we are looking for

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent Level 4 qualification in a construction related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable prior learning.

  • Must hold full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a construction site environment.

  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Control and Building warranties

  • A good understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, construction methods and legal requirements.
