  • We are seeking a CNC Turner programmer/setter for our manufacturing team in South Woodham Ferrers. The role requires a minimum of 3 years programming experience and expertise in multi-axis live tooling. The candidate will be responsible for programming and setting lathes, ensuring parts meet customer standards using various measuring equipment. The position offers a salary of £35,000 per year, along with 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm.

We are looking for a CNC Turner programmer/setter to join our fast-paced manufacturing team based in South Woodham Ferrers.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Using various measuring equipment (Verniers / Micrometers / Height gauge / Shadowgraph etc.) to ensure all parts conform to customer standards.
  • Programming and setting Lathes from drawing or cad files in the most efficient manner while ensuring all customer requirements are met.
  • Reviewing older production parts to ensure they are being machined in the most efficient manner.
  • Maintaining general cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with the production plan.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • 3 years minimum programming experience.
  • Experience using multi axis live tooling.
  • Experience setting various lathes.
  • The ability to carry out first off, self-inspection and final inspection.
  • Experience machining a wide range of materials.
  • The ability to work and communicate within a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of fanuc programming including live tooling

Desirable skills:

  • Siemens 840d experience (training can be given)
  • Cam programming
  • Experience of twin spindle machining
  • Aerospace background
  • Apprentice trained
