Project Engineering Manager - RF Power Division

We are seeking a Project Engineering Manager to oversee and drive complex engineering projects within the RF Power Division. This role involves managing one of the RF Power project streams-Pulse Power, Tubes, Novel Systems (MPMs/TWTA), or RFSS-ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

As part of this commitment, we are looking for a motivated Project Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams across both customer-facing and internal R&D projects, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering teams, other departments, and suppliers for successful project execution.
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities, ensuring alignment on project tasks and deliverables.
  • Ensure project activities are planned, costed, and adequately resourced for timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular project reviews, assessing progress in terms of time, cost, quality, and risk.
  • Manage project scope changes, ensuring feasibility, assessing impacts, and securing approvals.
  • Keep stakeholders informed on project progress, performance, and risk management.
  • Ensure adherence to internal project management processes and Life Cycle Management procedures.
  • Introduce and implement best practices in project and product delivery.
  • Support business development efforts, helping to secure new projects and define strategic direction.
  • Provide line management for multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including recruitment, performance management, and training.
  • Work with other Project Engineering Managers to allocate and prioritise resources effectively.
  • Mentor and support junior project managers to enhance project management capability.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Extensive experience in managing engineering projects from bid to production.
  • A track record of driving teams to meet critical deadlines and project milestones.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
  • Sound judgement, knowing when to escalate issues and when to take ownership.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project and MS Project Server (or equivalent).
  • Experience with SAP (desirable but not essential).
  • Formal project management qualifications (desirable).
  • Holding or eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
