Credit Controller

Chelmsford, Essex

£30,000 - £36,000 per annum

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for a new opportunity? Look no further! Our client, a well-established company based in Chelmsford, is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join their team as a Credit Controller.

Please note that a driving licence and vehicle is required for this role due to the location.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and report on group credit control, ensuring prompt payment by liaising with customers.
  • Allocate all monies received for the group using Sage software.
  • Process daily debtor uploads to a third-party factor facility.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships both externally and internally.
  • Assist department heads in collecting debt and managing bad and doubtful debts.
  • Regularly update directors and managers with promised monies reporting.
  • Assist in preventing bad debt by reviewing customer credit limits and adverse credit reports.
  • Provide ad hoc debtor reporting as required.
  • Collaborate with external bankers and credit providers to ensure accounting systems align with external systems. Support periodic compliance audits.
  • Work closely with the financial controller to identify internal control weaknesses and implement new systems.
  • Assist directors with final account reconciliations when necessary.

  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • You are highly organised and professional, with a keen eye for detail.
  • You are assertive and proactive in your thinking and approach.
  • You have the flexibility to adapt to continuously shifting goals.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
