Senior/Principal Engineer EICA
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior/Principal EICA Engineer to join a growing engineering team. This role is primarily based in the Essex & Suffolk region but will also require occasional travel to other regions for training and integration into the company's culture. The successful candidate will be working on a diverse and exciting portfolio of water and wastewater projects, contributing to a programme valued at approximately £280M.
As a Senior/Principal EICA Engineer, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality, cost-effective EICA design deliverables that align with project specifications and are easy to construct and commission. You will need to consider all costs associated with design and construction, ensuring that solutions are economically viable and meet the needs of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop expert-level EICA design deliverables, ensuring they are cost-effective and meet the full scope of project specifications.
- Work collaboratively with other internal and external disciplines to ensure the coordination and successful integration of design processes.
- Maintain competitiveness in design solutions and support the Proposals department by providing accurate cost estimates and feedback.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of departmental procedures and processes.
- Assist in the supervision and development of team members, ensuring a culture of customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed records and files for all project activities, ensuring they are kept up to date throughout the duration of contracts.
- Promote a safe working environment for all staff and minimise waste from departmental activities.
- Ensure designs account for environmental, health, and safety considerations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Expert knowledge of EICA design deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, MCC Designs, and Control and Instrumentation specifications.
- Strong understanding of EICA systems within water and sewage treatment sectors.
- Experience in managing and developing teams working on EICA design aspects in water and sewage treatment plants.
- Membership in a professional institution and Chartered status is highly desirable.
- Relevant degree or masters in engineering (EICA or related discipline).
- Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
- General knowledge across mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management within the water treatment sector.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to process complex data.
- Proficiency in presenting technical proposals clearly and confidently.
- Computer literacy and a valid driving license.
