We are seeking a skilled and experienced Multi skilled Operator to join our team at Aggregate Industries. This role is essential for supporting quarrying and construction operations, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely within the site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a 360 excavator for material handling, with clamshell experience to unload rail wagons and blending material. As well as a loading shovel ticket as well.
- Role - Multi skilled Operator
- Location: Aggregate Industries, Brook St, Chelmsford, CM1 1SU
- Pay Rate: £15 per hour (1-hour unpaid break) (negotiable based on expereince)
- Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday (06:00 - 16:00)
- Overtime: Monday - Saturday at 1.5x and Sunday at 2.0x of the basic rate
- Assignment Length: Temporary to permanent, initially for three months with the potential for extension
- Start: As soon as clear the interview and onboarding documentations
Responsibilities:
- Operate a 360 excavator safely and efficiently within a quarry and construction environment.
- Load and transport aggregates to support site operations.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order, conducting routine checks and reporting any faults.
- Follow strict health and safety regulations, wearing the required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Work closely with site supervisors, other operators, and ground workers to ensure smooth site operations.
- Loading shovel duties to include loading HGV vehicles & handling of aggregates within the depot to meet customer requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience operating a 360 excavator in a quarrying, construction or aggregate handling environment (preferable but not mandatory)
- A valid CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavator & loading Shovel ticket.
- Should have own transport
- A strong understanding of site safety procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- Good spatial awareness and the ability to operate machinery in confined or busy environments.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
