Job Overview:

Our client, a prominent firm based in Essex, is seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled tax professional to lead tax compliance and advisory services for a broad range of clients, from SMEs to multinational corporations. As Corporate Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in providing expert tax advice, overseeing tax compliance, and driving strategic tax planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee and manage corporate tax compliance for a portfolio of clients, ensuring the timely and accurate filing of corporate tax returns and managing all aspects of tax reporting, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes.

  • Tax Advisory: Provide strategic tax advice on a variety of corporate tax matters, such as corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, R&D tax credits, financing, and cross-border taxation.

  • Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering high-quality tax solutions tailored to their needs. Proactively identify opportunities for tax optimization and risk management.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of junior staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop professionally. Oversee their work on compliance and advisory matters to ensure high-quality delivery.

  • Tax Planning & Strategy: Support clients with long-term tax planning and ensure tax strategies are implemented effectively to minimize risks and maximize efficiencies.

  • Tax Risk Management: Assist clients in managing tax risks, ensuring they comply with UK tax legislation, and helping them navigate any challenges or changes in tax law.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA Qualification (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in corporate tax.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK corporation tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes.
  • Proven experience in managing a portfolio of clients and providing strategic tax advice.
  • Strong technical expertise in tax compliance, reporting, and advisory services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Proficient in using tax compliance software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
  • Experience in international tax, cross-border transactions, and transfer pricing.
  • Experience in managing complex tax issues for multinational clients.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
